What the county announced

The July 1 county announcement says recycling compactors and containers were installed at Concord, Altavista, Evington and Livestock Road. It credits a Recycling Partnership grant and collaboration with Elite Recycling. Co-mingled collection allows designated recyclables to share a collection container.

The notice describes additional opportunities at other sites as forthcoming. This report does not convert that statement into a verified countywide rollout. It also does not assign the grant program’s national funding total to Campbell County.

Follow the container instructions at the site

The county’s recycling page directs residents to posted signs identifying permissible items. “No sorting” does not mean that any object can go into a recycling compactor. For an uncertain material, ask the attendant before unloading.

Use the convenience-center directory for locations and the Livestock Road facility page for that site. The recycling page lists 238 Livestock Road, while the dedicated facility page lists 427 Livestock Road. Confirm the entrance with Public Works rather than relying on the inconsistent recycling-page address. Our disposal guide links the responsible offices and special-material routes.

Which records would show cost and results?

Useful follow-up records would include the grant award and conditions, equipment purchases, any local match, the executed recycling agreement and dated collection reports. Ask for reporting periods and units so a tonnage total can be compared with another total on the same basis.

Equipment installation alone cannot establish net savings, lower contamination or a longer landfill life. Those conclusions require operating expenses, processing and hauling charges, recovered-material receipts and disposal data. The budget-records guide explains how appropriations differ from payments.

Follow the service and the public decisions separately

For where and how to drop off material, start with Waste Management and Recycling. For existing agreements, invoices or reports, use the public-records guide. No grant amount, savings figure or contract amendment is independently established in this edition.
