What the November vote and January review prove

The November 24 minutes record a 5–0 vote on a policy package that included JEFB. That establishes a board action, but the minutes do not reproduce the complete policy text. The January 15, 2026 committee packet identifies November 24 as the readoption date and explains HB 57’s flexibility. It does not establish another board adoption. Board minutes · Committee packet.

The committee record and adopted minutes make Hilliard useful for following recurring policy changes even while the final wording remains a gap. This tracker does not certify that the October draft survived unchanged into the adopted policy.

Why the one-period draft is not a current-rule claim

The October 27 first-reading packet proposes one weekly period and sponsor screening provisions. A draft can identify the issue under consideration without proving the final decision. Families should obtain the adopted JEFB text, its effective date, school procedure and any sponsor agreement before relying on those proposed terms. Proposed text.

The district’s notice for sponsoring organizations directs readers to JEFB and the district office. It does not independently supply a release timetable, insurance amount or approved participating-school roster. District notice.

LifeWise outreach versus actual participation

The district’s Hoffman Trails community-flyer page lists a LifeWise Academy Hilliard event, and a LifeWise permission form names Hilliard City Schools. These are attributable evidence of local outreach. Neither is an official record of students leaving that school for instruction. District flyer listing · Provider form.

No current participating-school list or enrollment total is published here. To change the status to verified active, the next update needs a dated district or school record of activity, or strong independent corroboration of actual operation.

How current Ohio law applies

Ohio requires a qualifying release policy and at least one period weekly, written parental consent, sponsor attendance records and liability, private transportation, responsibility for missed work and protection of core courses. The two-period elementary/middle and high-school time-equivalent limits are defaults that district policy may change. Credit awards are separate and conditional.
