What the bus-rental votes establish
District-hosted May 2, 2024 minutes record approval of a LifeWise rental request, 4–0. A January 2, 2025 copy on the municipal website records another approval, 6–0, but its filename says unapproved. Neither record supplies the contract, trip purpose, payment, cost recovery or insurance terms. 2024 minutes · 2025 copy.
The votes do not establish that school staff provide routine program transport or that the arrangement complies with every funding rule. The signed rental agreement and accounting records are the next documents needed. This tracker makes no finding of unlawful spending.
From announced start to school operating reference
An August 3, 2023 elementary report announced an August 14 LifeWise start. The school’s e-learning procedures now available online say LifeWise does not meet on e-learning days. Those are separate evidence points: an announcement and an operational instruction. 2023 board record · School procedure.
The latter supports a district-recognized program reference but is undated. It does not verify October 2026 attendance, enrollment totals, every participating school or the current weekly schedule.
Read the older manual alongside current law
The located manual predates the 2024 mandatory-release amendment and 2025 secondary-school change. Its local core-class protection and work responsibility are useful historical differences, not statewide requirements imported into §19. How current Indiana law applies
Section 20-33-2-19 requires qualifying release after written parental notice, collaborative least-disruptive timing, provider attendance records and equivalent attendance credit. Elementary release is capped at 120 minutes weekly; secondary release is capped at one elective course time-equivalent weekly. No public funding may support the entity. Optional secondary academic credit has separate board-policy, screening and insurance conditions.
