Lake Keowee Public Access: Boat Ramps, Parks, Parking and Fees
Choose a park, landing or marina for your lake day. Compare seven Oconee access locations, published fees and the current source checks that matter before towing a boat.
Seven access locations reviewed; Keowee Town’s closure notice still needs a confirmed reopening.
Check the Keowee Town notice before departure
October 28 access check: Duke Energy’s access alerts still carry a September 2 Keowee Town closure notice with an expected October 2026 reopening. A confirmed reopening was not found. Check Duke before choosing that launch.
Duke also warns that low water can affect ramps. Consult the current lake levels and access notices on your travel day; a water-level reading alone does not establish that a ramp is usable.
Seven access locations at a glance
The table separates county parks, public landings and a commercial marina offering public launches. Published fees are quoted as listed, not combined into an assumed vehicle-and-trailer total.
| Location | Access type | Published charge / planning note |
|---|---|---|
| South Cove | Oconee County park | $5 per car; $5 per boat/trailer |
| High Falls | Oconee County park | $5 per car; $5 per boat/trailer |
| Cane Creek | Public landing | Current fee and facility schedule not established |
| Stamp Creek | Public landing | Current fee and facility schedule not established |
| Fall Creek | Public landing | Current fee and facility schedule not established |
| Keowee Town | Duke Energy access area | Closure notice still posted; reopening unverified |
| Lake Keowee Marina | Commercial marina, public launch | $15 per launch; $150 annual launch option |
For the three public landings, “not established” does not mean free or closed. Use the linked official directory and current access notices before choosing one.
South Cove County Park: a lake day near Seneca
1099 S Cove Road, Seneca, SC 29672 · 864-882-5250. The county park page lists three ramps, picnic and play areas, courts and an accessible fishing pier. It publishes year-round operation with gates closed 10 p.m.–5 a.m. Gate hours do not establish the operating hours of every facility.
The county fee schedule lists $5 per car and $5 per boat/trailer, plus a $25 annual pass for county residents. Camping and rentals are separate. Ask the park which charge or pass applies to your vehicle combination and whether the facilities you need are available.
High Falls County Park: ramps, picnic space and seasonal camping
671 High Falls Road, Seneca, SC 29672 · 864-882-8234. High Falls’ operator page lists two ramps, a fishing pier, restrooms, a playground and picnic facilities. Gates close 10 p.m.–7 a.m. Day use and lake access are listed year-round; camping closes from mid-November through February, with exact dates available from the park.
Its fee schedule lists $5 per car and $5 per boat/trailer. Confirm winter restroom access and holiday arrangements directly. A Seneca mailing address does not put this park in downtown Seneca.
Cane Creek Landing: use the official location link
Cane Creek is listed in Visit Oconee’s public-access directory. Use its Cane Creek map link to identify the landing, then check Duke’s access alerts. Current fees, restroom availability and a facility-specific daily schedule were not established. For a picnic or playground as well as a launch, compare the county parks above.
Stamp Creek Landing: confirm facilities before choosing it
Visit Oconee includes Stamp Creek among the lake’s public access points and supplies this location link. Check current notices before towing. Do not plan around a restroom, accessible facility or overnight stay without operator confirmation; a public landing listing alone does not establish those services.
Fall Creek Landing: launch access near the northern lake
Use the Fall Creek location link in the official tourism directory. The Keowee-Toxaway State Park FAQ identifies Fall Creek as a nearby launch option and says the state park itself has no boat ramp. Check current landing access separately from state-park hours.
Keowee Town: closure notice takes priority over directory listings
The Duke notice describes a fishing pier and additional parking among the planned upgrades. Its anticipated reopening month is not confirmation that work is complete. The tourism directory’s map pin identifies the location; it does not override the closure notice. Check Duke before making this your destination.
Lake Keowee Marina: a paid public launch and rental option
150 Keowee Marina Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 · 864-882-2047. The marina operator publishes two public launch ramps at $15 per launch or $150 annually. It also lists a fuel dock, pump-out station, ship store and boat/paddlesport rentals.
This is a commercial option with its own terms. Confirm launch hours, trailer parking and the total cost of any rental before booking; a launch fee is not a boat-rental price.
Autumn and winter: separate gate hours from seasonal services
The county’s linked winter operations PDF is labeled 2024 and includes dates into 2025–26. It does not verify the coming 2026–27 holiday closures. Use the park pages above for their general schedules and call for current exceptions.
The current county fee pages list $5 car parking; older tourism descriptions still show $3. This guide uses the county’s own fee schedules. Confirm winter restrooms, day-use closing times and camping dates, especially when a late return is part of the plan.
Before towing, choose an alternative landing, check parking and access notices, and confirm that your boat and trailer suit the available ramp conditions. Follow signs and barriers at the site.
Nearby access across the county line
Lake Keowee spans Oconee and Pickens counties. Visit Oconee’s directory identifies Mile Creek Park, Crow Creek Landing and Warpath Landing as Pickens County options. They are useful alternatives to investigate, with their own operators and rules; they are not counted in the seven Oconee listings above.
For a day without a boat, start with a park’s published day-use facilities. For rentals, confirm the operator’s meeting point and parking. A private neighborhood or club on the shoreline is not automatically a public access point.
