Who represents Bedford County, which office handles your question, and where to find the official record.

For an emergency, call 911. Directory numbers are for routine office questions. The county mayor’s office is in the historic courthouse; departments also use other buildings. Check the destination before traveling.
Transition check: the assessor page’s current heading names Emily Redd Hodges, while an older paragraph still names a predecessor. The August 6 county election return corroborates Hodges. The register’s office uses “John Reed”; the return uses “Johnny Reed.” Do not substitute older directory entries for these dated records.
County commission and school board
The 18-member county commission has two members in each of nine districts. The county’s roster is explicitly labeled as of September 1, 2026. Our County Commission guide lists all members by district, explains the committee process, and links agendas and minutes.
The nine-member Board of Education has one representative for each district. Use the school-board guide for the full roster, meeting archive and policy manual. A school-board electoral district is different from a child’s school attendance assignment.
Use the Election Commission’s district maps and Tennessee voter lookup to check your address. Precincts, city wards, county districts and legislative districts are different boundaries. The elections guide explains that distinction.
State delegation and federal representation
| Office | Current officeholder / district | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| Tennessee House | Pat Marsh — House District 62 | 114th General Assembly profile |
| Tennessee Senate | Shane Reeves — Senate District 14 | 114th General Assembly profile |
| U.S. Senate | Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty — statewide | U.S. Senate Tennessee directory |
| U.S. House, current 119th Congress | Scott DesJarlais — Tennessee District 4 under the current term’s representation | Official district page; House address lookup |
Important 2026 election distinction: Bedford’s November 3 sample ballot, PDF page 4 (printed page 8) lists U.S. House District 9. That identifies the district voters elect for the next term; it does not by itself replace the current officeholder before that term begins. The county election page also flags the congressional change. Confirm address-specific constituent service with the House lookup and election assignment with the Election Commission.
No November winner is listed here: that election is in the future as of October 7. State-legislative and congressional district numbers are not interchangeable.

Update log and records to monitor
Published the post-September local directory. Reconciled the assessor’s stale paragraph against the current heading and election return. Distinguished current congressional representation from the District 9 November ballot.
Next records to check: Changes in officeholders or vacancies; confirmation of next-term federal representation after the election; stale government directory text.
This is a dated public-record guide. Missing or inaccessible records are not treated as proof of no action. Updates require supporting documents; no automatic monitoring schedule has been created.
