Parent catalog access and checkout controls

Open the catalog

Open the district’s School Library Catalogs page, then its Library Catalog link. Use the child’s campus collection. The public catalog link is documented; access to private student checkout records was not tested.

Official catalog entry point

Set a child’s restrictions

A specific current parent checkout-restriction workflow was not located in the reviewed district pages. Contact the campus librarian for the district’s current form or portal instructions. Texas §33.023 supplies the underlying right, but it does not prove that a particular local interface has been verified.

The procedures above are drawn from the district sources below. Parent authentication and private student records were not accessed.

Acquisitions, challenges and council participation

Acquisition and public-comment process

The SLAC page publishes proposed acquisition lists and describes 30-day public feedback before recommendations and board action. March 5 minutes discuss the January 30 proposed list and the review process. A council recommendation should not be described as a board acquisition approval.

Challenge or reconsideration

The Requests for Reconsideration page directs requests through board policy and links a TEA Challenge Form. The audit located the entry point, but not a complete dated public register of title-level board dispositions. Ask the district for the challenged title, committee recommendation, board order and any appeal result.

Council, appointments and petitions

The October 28, 2025 board recap reports council appointments in the consent agenda. The current SLAC page lists board/district appointments, some vacancies, and meetings on March 5, April 16, May 21, June 18 and August 20, 2026. March minutes document organization and acquisition review. A qualifying petition was not located.

Documented title records

A named-title final disposition was not located in this audit. The council and acquisition records below support this process tracker; no zero-challenge claim is made.

Evidence gaps and conflicts

The council archive is strong evidence of an operating public process. It is not proof that every required notice, posting deadline or membership condition was satisfied. A standalone title-level final decision and a current restriction interface were not located.

Parent questions

How do I see my child’s school-library catalog?

Open the district’s School Library Catalogs page, then its Library Catalog link. Use the child’s campus collection. The public catalog link is documented; access to private student checkout records was not tested.

How do I limit books for my own child?

A specific current parent checkout-restriction workflow was not located in the reviewed district pages. Contact the campus librarian for the district’s current form or portal instructions. Texas §33.023 supplies the underlying right, but it does not prove that a particular local interface has been verified.

Does this page prove that every listed title is currently available or removed?

No. Read the date, campus, decision-maker and current-status field on each record. A historical committee action, current pending review and final board decision carry different evidentiary weight.

Where can I find the law and compare other districts?

Read the Texas SB 13 guide and search the district database. The report explains the limits of this sample.
