DeSoto County Meetings and Public Records: November 2026 Guide
Find the next supervisor meeting, road-project agenda items, November 11 service changes and the right route for county records. Checked November 3, 2026.
Next listed supervisor meeting: November 16
The Board of Supervisors calendar lists Monday, November 16, 2026 as the next meeting after November 2. Regular meetings begin at 9 a.m., in the third-floor board room, 365 Losher Street, Hernando. The usual pattern is the first and third Monday, with possible changes for holidays or conflicts. Check the official calendar and agenda index again before traveling. Board office: 662-469-8002.
To ask about putting an item on an agenda, the county FAQ directs residents to County Administration, 662-469-8180. Contact the office early for its procedure and deadline; this guide does not promise a speaking slot.
November 2 road items: agenda, not verified outcomes
The November 2 agenda, posted October 30 and marked subject to changes, lists Commerce Street Extension subcontract approval and a Jaybird and Byhalia Road intersection-improvements task order. It also lists budget amendments for several projects, including Commerce Street Segment 2 and Center Hill Road safety improvements.
As of this November 3 review, the agenda index did not provide approved November 2 minutes. We have not established the votes, executed task order, prices or payments for those items. Watch for approved minutes and the actual contract documents. Keep these stages separate when reading the road-projects tracker.
November 11 county closure and trash service
The county’s October 30 Veterans Day alert says county offices, courts, the animal shelter and Agricultural Education Center will close Wednesday, November 11. Trash collection will follow its normal schedule, and emergency services are unaffected. This notice does not establish a closure for every city office or school.
The November 2 agenda also lists an Emergency Operations Center substantial-completion walkthrough for November 12 at 10 a.m. A scheduled walkthrough is not proof that the building is complete, accepted or open to the public.
Request the document that answers your question
For a spending question, specify the project name, date range and records sought—for example, approved minutes, an executed task order, amendments, invoices and payment records. Ask for an electronic copy and a cost estimate before chargeable work. A narrow request is easier to follow than asking for every county record.
The county records policy links its printable form. General county requests go to the Board of Supervisors, 365 Losher Street, Suite 300, Hernando, MS 38632. Its page says a representative will make contact within seven business days; that is not a promise that all requested records will be delivered by then.
Court records go through the appropriate court clerk. Police/arrest reports go to the agency that created them. Check the county’s routing instructions and full policy before submitting. This guide has not sent a request on any reader’s behalf.
