The absentee deadlines concern receipt, not simply putting an envelope in the mail. Alabama requires a qualifying reason for absentee voting; consult the official absentee guidance and the Blount County application. Military and overseas voters have separate provisions described in the state guide.

Check your registration, polling place and identification

The state's My Voting Information lookup lets voters check registration information, ballot status and polling location. It also offers an address-based polling-place search. Check your own record before Election Day, especially after moving, and contact the registrars if the information needs attention.

For registration submitted on the October 19 deadline, the voter guide specifies a timely postmark for a mailed form, receipt before close of business for an in-person form, or electronic submission before 11:59 p.m. Follow the instructions for the method you use.

Bring an approved form of photo identification, such as a qualifying driver's license or passport. The Secretary of State publishes the complete accepted-ID list and free Alabama Photo Voter ID information.

What is on the Blount County sample ballot?

Open the official November 3, 2026 Blount County sample ballot to review statewide races, local offices and constitutional amendments. The file includes multiple ballot styles. Legislative and county district contests can differ by address, so confirm the correct style through the election office.

One distinction matters when checking sheriff information: the sheriff's official message page identifies Mark Moon as the current officeholder, while the November sample ballot lists David Thompson as the Republican candidate for Blount County sheriff, with a write-in option. A candidate listing does not establish who currently holds the office or who has won an election.

How Blount County voted for president in 2024

The certified statewide canvass reports these Blount County presidential votes:

Presidential choiceVotes
Donald Trump25,354
Kamala Harris2,576
Other listed candidates and write-ins combined233
Total presidential votes in the county28,163

Trump's share was 90.03%, calculated as 25,354 divided by 28,163. The denominator includes every reported presidential choice, including third-party and write-in votes. It describes votes cast in that contest, not the political affiliation of every county resident.

The Alabama State Canvassing Board certified the results on November 26, 2024. The official statewide certification is also available in a county-government mirror.
