A Moral and Constitutional Alternative

Conservatives do not oppose humane treatment. Faith, family, and charity compel us to care for the vulnerable. But dignified immigration policy respects the rule of law and prioritizes American citizens and lawful immigrants. We can—and must—reform our immigration system through Congress: secure the border, restore enforcement, expand legal pathways that serve American economic needs, and ensure assimilation and respect for our values.

Delegating these choices to an administrative agency is cowardice, not compassion. It avoids hard votes and shirks responsibility to the electorate.

What Must Be Done Now

Republican governors and attorneys general should use every lawful tool to block this power grab, including court challenges that defend the Constitution and the prerogatives of Congress. Conservative legislators must pass real, enforceable policies to secure the border and restore the rule of law.

Voters must also weigh elected officials’ willingness to stand for sovereignty and the Constitution. This issue will determine who can safely protect our communities and preserve the American way of life.
