ICE Bonds and Blount County Bail: Payment, Timing and Refund Questions
A county custody listing, an immigration bond payment and a bond hearing serve different purposes. ICE’s July guidance explains payment and refund routes, with limits on what its timing estimates promise.

A county listing does not establish an ICE bond
For Blount County families following a custody matter, the first question is which agency and case a payment concerns. The Sheriff’s Office roster page covers current detention-center listings and recent releases. Its disclaimer says the center cannot certify the accuracy or authenticity of the online information.
A listing should therefore prompt confirmation with the responsible office, rather than serve as a payment instruction. The Sheriff’s Office publishes 205-973-0517 for non-emergency contact. No person’s bond amount, immigration status or release conditions were established for this report.
CeBONDS handles federal immigration bonds
ICE’s Post a Bond guidance, updated July 1, 2026, links CeBONDS for verifying bond information, posting eligible bonds and receiving notices. It describes an obligor as the person or entity guaranteeing the bond’s conditions.
The system is available within the United States to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, law firms and nonprofits. ICE also describes noncitizens posting their own voluntary-departure or supervision bonds. Access to a payment system does not establish an individual’s eligibility for release.
Payment methods and processing hours are specified
The ICE FAQ specifies Fedwire or ACH payments and weekday processing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding government holidays, in the detained person’s time zone. Requests outside that window, or unfinished within it, move to the next business day.
ICE identifies Form I-352 as the controlling bond agreement. Its general fact sheet does not replace those contractual terms.
Timing estimates are not release guarantees
ICE estimates roughly one to two hours for verification, subject to staffing, resources and case circumstances. Facility release processing can also vary. Its FAQ directs open-bond questions to an ICE field office; after a cancellation or breach notice, refund questions go to Burlington’s financial service center at 877-491-6521, option 1.
A bond hearing is a separate court question
The Justice Department’s EOIR case-information page, updated February 20, 2026, directs bond-hearing inquiries to the immigration court. It also warns that the public case-status system displays only some information about certain cases.
That separates three questions: what a custody listing reports, whether a court proceeding concerns bond, and how an approved immigration bond is posted. A payment receipt does not itself resolve the court case. See the earlier court-status report for the limits of the public search.
Sources and reporting
We compared published county custody information with ICE’s payment guidance and EOIR’s court-information guidance. No personal custody search, payment, account creation, bond contract, refund claim or private case file was submitted or reviewed. No individual’s bond eligibility, amount, court assignment or release time was determined. The separate class-action notice on EOIR’s page is not used to establish anyone’s entitlement.
